Labor Day Picnic Faithful Help Launch Kleihege Thistle

Monday, September 5, 2011. By Brad Kleihege. A cold and windy Labor Day saw a number of hardy sailors gather for the annual holiday picnic. Bill and Judy Pratt did an excellent job organizing the picnic and grilling the dogs and brats. After lunch, Brad Kleihege took his Thistle he and Jim Fletcher have spent the summer restoring on its maiden voyage. It performed well in the gusty conditions, and didn’t sink! Several club members went out for a sail on it. Overall, a good time was had by all.
