Spartan Singles - Laser Regatta on Lake Lansing

Saturday, September 17, 2005 for collegiate and non-collegiate sailors
and continuing Sunday, September 18, 2005 for collegiate sailors (see note below)

and the Lansing Sailing Club

Just before the start of a race in the 2003 Spartan Singles Regatta

Goal
Our goal is to have a great regatta while creating conditions similar to those the collegiate sailors will encounter when they sail their midwest single-handed championship which is scheduled shortly after Spartan Singles. This means lots of boats at the line and good competition.

Who Is Invited
All Laser sailors, including junior sailors, are invited to participate. Radial and 4.7 laser rigs may be used but will not have a separate start.

Venue
Regatta headquarters will be at the Lansing Sailing Club, 6039 Lake Drive, Haslett, MI. Sailing will be on the waters of Lake Lansing near the Lansing Sailing Club.

Gates Open
The Gates to the Lansing Sailing Club will open at 8 am each day.

Skipper's Meeting
There will be a Skipper's Meeting at 9 am

Racing Begins
Racing will begin as soon as possible after the 9 am Skipper's Meeting.

Lunch
There will be a short break for lunch around noon with the specific time to be determined by the Race Committee based on sailing conditions.

Racing Concludes Saturday
No race will begin after 4 pm on Saturday

Entry Fee
There will be an entry fee of $10 for all sailors and includes lunch.

Awards
Awards and recognition will be given to top finishers among both collegiate and non-collegiate sailors - including junior sailors.

Sunday Racing
Collegiate sailors will continue the regatta on Sunday. Although awards for the non-collegiate group will be based on Saturday racing only, non-collegiate sailors who wish to participate in the Sunday portion of the regatta are welcome to do so.
