Memorial Day 2006

Sailors began arriving for the Memorial Day Picnic and Fun Regatta. Among them one of our future sailors.

Bill Wadland went on the water in his new Laser - fresh out of the box.

Bill Pratt took on the job of cook - and what a great chef he made. Perfectly done brats and dogs are routine for this expert.

Everyone brought something to share - and there were some very good dishes to try.

Need a little mustard for your brat? No problem.

From twelve to as old as your Vice-Commodore, everyone enjoyed the picnic.

There were some good laughs too.

Dave MacKenzie and Ian Clemens were on the water early, but got to the beach in time for food.

Standing up or sitting down, the food was still good.

Walter agreed. .

Jim and Maribeth Fletcher led the fun. They put slips of paper with numbers on them inside balloons and set them adrift for sailors to gather.

Highest total number won - so collecting lots of balloons seemed to be a good idea. However, some of the numbers were negative.

On our way back to the dock, the kids towed behind the boat - doing acrobatics at the end of their lines.

Fletchers handed out awards - wine, crackers and cheese. Some put them to good use as part of a good game of euchre.
