Alanna Harvey, Lake Lansing Sunfish Fleet Captain, was in charge of the regatta and her organizational skills were quite evident. Everything went well - although she had to have a word with the rain goddess during lunch so we could get the afternoon session going. |

Derrick Fries had 11070 going fast, won all five races and the regatta. This is the third year in a row that World Sunfish Champion Derrick has won the Lake Lansing Regatta. |

Mike Moody borrowed a boat and set out to defend his third place finish in last year's regatta. However, the ligher air was much different to sail in and left the Commodore frustrated with mid-pack finishes.

Nathan Zeigler put together a 4-3-5-5-5 day for a third place finish in the regatta.

Pat Dolan, another Laser sailor who occasionally jumps into a Sunfish, said he "was as uncomfortable in a boat like never before". Like the Commodore, Pat finished third in this regatta several years ago - but was frustrated on this day.

Susanna Tellschow, a rookie last year, continues to improve. In this regatta, she finished twelth in a seventeen boat field - aheaf of both the Commodre and Vice-Commodore.

Tom Katterheinrich was another visitor who showed his stuff. Tom finished fourth in the regatta with a 5-9-4-2-3 day.

Wind shifts made it tough on the Race Committee as well as the sailors. Here a thirty degree shift just before the start spoiled what had been a square line - and the boats got quickly on to port tack.
