John Fishbeck Looking for Mainsheet
If anyone found a Sunfish mainsheet after last Saturday's Sunfish Regatta, it belongs to John Fishbeck. You'll get a big hug if you can find it for John.

June 10:

June 17:

   VOLUNTEER WANTED

Nine Laser sailors and five Sunfish skippers found Lake Lansing to be at its best for sailing Wednesday night with mid 70's on the temp guage and winds 8-10.

The Sunfish mixed it up pretty well - and most individual scores read like a rollercoaster ride. John Fishbeck: 1-2-4-1, Jim Fletcher: 2-1-3-4, Neil Harrision: 4-3-1-3, Dave Vietti: 3-5-2-2 and Michael-Salomon Jost: 5-4-5-5. Neil Harrison holds onto his first place standing in the season totals to date.

Among the Lasers, Doug Carlson, Olav Messerschmidt and Mike Moody put up all the ones, twos and threes Wednesday and continue to lead the fleet. Doug had a 1-1-2-1 night while Olav scored the other bullet in a 3-2-1-2 set. Mike was 2-3-3-3.

In the next tier of Laser Sailors were George Siegle with four fourth place finishes, followed by Susanna Tellschow who was late for the first start and finished eighth, but followed that with a 5-6-5.

It was good to see that Blaine Severin was back on the water and he had a couple of mid-fleet finishes. Wayne Loescher went to school in the first three races and was sailing an excellent final race until he got the worst of a starboard-port situation. Bob Miller and Pat Dolan were the victims all evening of an unreasonable expectation that the wind was going to go back right. It never did and their preoccupation with that side of the course had the predictable result.

Lasers Go At It Saturday

A crowded mark rounding at last year's Regatta

Skippers meeting gets called Saturday at 9:30 am for Laser sailors in the Annual Lake Lansing Laser Regatta. The first of six scheduled races is set to start at 10 am. Laser sailors from throughout the area are expected.

Last year's winner was Chad Coberly, of Gull Lake, who bested 16 other Laser sailors to claim his championship. LSC's Doug Carlson was second.

This year's event is well organized by Doug Carlson, Laser Fleet Captain. This Regatta is known for high quality Race Committee work, the usual shifty Lake Lansing breezes and an outstanding cook-it-yourself BBQ.
