It's the Holiday Season - Give Associate Membership as Gift

Someone looking for a great Holiday, birhtday or Valentine gift need look no further. An Associate Membership in the Lansing Sailing Club for $150 is a great gift.

For more information, contact Membership Chairperson Jonathan Ahlbrand by email at membership@lansingsailing.org.

The holiday season is always a good time for some retrospection and to begin creating excitement for the next year. So it is too with the Lansing Sailing Club.

Some blessings we should cherish include:

  • A wonderful resource called Lake Lansing on which LSC members enjoy a prime piece of property to take advantage of all it has to offer.
  • Many hard working and talented people as members of LSC. The commitment our members make to continually improve our Club is terrific.
  • A very high proportion of LSC members actively involved in sailing.

Thinking about next year, here are some resolutions to consider:

  • Continue to make sailing a priority in your life. Put it in your calendar as a "must do".
  • Invite others to come sailing with you. Introduce them to this great sport and pasttime as well as to our wonderful Lake Lansing resource.
  • Be sure to take advantage of all the great LSC programs like junior sailing, women's sailing, moonlight sails, crewing, holiday fun regattas, and others.
  • Keep volunteering to help out with activities and projects that improve our Club.

To all our members and friends we send our best wishes for the holidays and for a prosperous sailing new year.

Sleuths Check Timbers on Clubhouse

Pilings supporting the LSC Clubhouse

Chris Strugar-Fritsch and Wayne Loescher were at LSC last Saturday to check out the condition of pilings that support the LSC Clubhouse. Good news. The pilings seem solid and in good condition all around.

Their pilings check is part of a project to study options for improving our Clubhouse situation. With solid pilings, it may be possible to make improvements to the existing struture - although there are many other considerations that would go into making that decision. Another possibility is that the existing pilings might serve as a foundation, or part of a foundation for a new structure - or for expansion.

The Board of Directors will be meeting January 6th to continue their consideration of Clubhouse issues.
