Docks Come Out - LSC Made Ready for Winter

Make Reservations Now for November 10 Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting - Details Below

2006 Season Complete. Thanks to all members for fulfilling their race committee obligations and making this another great season of racing.

Cool and breezy weather didn't keep LSC members from preparing the property for winter. Docks came out of the water and are neatly stacked on shore. Leaves were raked and, together with old fencing as well as other "junk", taken to the Meridian Transfer Station. Club boats were cleaned and stored. The kitchen, changing rooms and storage sheds were cleaned and organized. And, most of this was done by 11 so most members were easily able to make tailgate parties.

Now we can start counting the days until April 14th, 2007 when docks go back in and we'll launch another sailing season.

Make Reservations for Awards Banquet

Note the change of date for this year's Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting. It will be held Friday evening, November 10th, a week earlier than last year. The site: Beggar's Banquet in East Lansing. Please make your reservation as soon as possible as we need to provide Beggar's a count two weeks before the event.

Reserve your spot by emailing Vice-Commodore Pat Dolan at patrick@dolan.name or by calling him at 517-214-6568. The cost this year will be $25.

Skipper's: don't forget to invite your crew. Among the awards are Crew of the Year and Rookie Crew of the Year.

Nominees Wanted for LSC Office

At this year's November 10 Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Awards Banquet, members will be voting on officers and Board Members for 2007. Anyone wishing to run for office, or to nominate someone, is urged to contact Vice-Commodore Pat Dolan as soon as possible. Reach him by email at patrick@dolan.name or by calling him at 517-214-6568.

Positions to be voted on are: Commodore, Vice-Commodore, Rear-Commodore, Facility Director, Club Boat Director, Treasurer, Secretary and Member at Large for a Term ending in 2008.

  • November 10 (Fri) LSC Annual Meeting, Awards Banquet and Crew Recognition. 6:30 Cash Bar. 7:00 Dinner followed by Annual Meeting, Awards and Recognition.
