Moody and Severin Find Wind Solutions in Light and Variable Conditions |
|
|||||
Light and variable wind conditions made Lightning racing difficult Sunday. It came mostly from the south, but anywhere from southeast to northwest and it was easy to sail into a hole where there was no wind. Mike Moody and Larry Koster were most consistent in solving the wind problems. Mike, sailing with Jamie Rasmussen and Jason Grimes posted wins in the the first two races. Larry, with Michael-Soloman Jost and Gary Marx on board, was 3-3-2 for the day. Blaine Severin, Julie Pierce and John Kolstoe found good solutions in the final race and sailed away to a win. Merrick Hurlbutt and his "Bo Jangles II" crew of Adrianne Tuttle and Scott Watkins were second in the first race, Jonathan Ahlbrand and Bob Bell sailed "Bananas" to second in Race 2 while Eddie Fletcher, Tim Potter and Tom Rasmussen were third in the final race to account for all the top three spots. In all, nine Lightnings were racing. Aside from the difficult wind conditions, it was another beautiful summer day. Detailed results and standings can be found soon through links on the "Racing" page of the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org. |
