    Race Committee members setting up

With a solid 10-12 mile an hour wind, pretty steady from the south, an efficient Race Committee ran three Lightning fleet races in record time. Starting promptly at 1, the fleet was putting away boats at 2:30.

Susanna Tellschow and Gil Chesbro teamed with skipper Pat Dolan to win all three races. Mike Moody and Jamie Rasmussen went 3-2-2 in "Moody's Booty". Adrianne Tuttle and Scott Watkins were on board with Merrick Hurlbutt to claim second in the first race and then two third place finishes in the remaining stanzas - including a narrow victory over Koster and Rasmussen in Race Two.

Results will be posted soon on the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org. Go to the Racing page and click your favorite fleet emblem.

    Deck Duties Posted

    LSC Duty Obligations:

Participate in Docks In and Docks Out

    Serve on a Race Committee

    Perform a Deck Duty

Members needing to make up a missed duty obligation can do so by signing up for Race Committee, contacting their team leader or checking with the Rear Commodore

Each LSC member has a deck duty obligation to perform during the year. The proposed dutes for 2006 were available at Docks In for members to review and request changes. The final duty list is posted at the Club House.

In addition, the duty list is now available on-line throught he Members Only area of the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org.

Members who develop a conflict or for some other reason cannot perform the duty assigned, please contact your team leader so that an alternative can be arranged.

All duties are organized as part of a "team" effort. Each members is asked to do their part to make the team successful.

July 4: Picnic - Fun Regatta - Parade

The big July 4 Picnic at LSC starts at noon. Bring a dish to pass. LSC provides brats, dogs, buns, soft drinks, paper and plastic.

After the picnic, fun begins on the water with Jim Fletcher in charge.

Those who want to participate in the boat parade can decorate and ride on the LSC Committee Boat. The parade starts at 6 pm in front of the condos.

    Work Party Cleans Up

Rear Commodore Jim Fletcher organized a work party Saturday morning and accomplished some major clean up. The broken rack that was torn down at Docks In has been dismantled and carted away. In addition the north dock approach was put back on solid footing and no longer sags. Thanks much to Dave MacKenzie, Bill Wadland, Mike Moody and Pat Dolan for giving their time.

Next on the agenda is the beach launch area where we will be either removing the webbing or covering it with a base of stone and a layer of sand on top.
