Severin Crew Posts Two First Place Finishes |
|
|||||
Olav Messerschmidt and Dave MacKenzie served on Race Committee Sunday - and did a great job of coping with highly variable wind conditions. The score sheet shows "Wind Speed: 0-10" and "Wind Direction: All except SE". And the sailors can attest to the huge wind shifts those notations suggest. Blaine Severin did the best job of solving the wind puzzle and ended up with a third and two first place finishes. Julie Pierce and Tom Deits crewed on "Unidentified Flying Pigasus" and they had the boat going fast. Neil Harrison, Alanna Harvey and John Quensen started slowly with a last place finish in the first race. However, they certainly found their groove after that and were third, then second in the final race. Jim Fletcher sailed with two new (to him) crew: Bob Mill and Brian Ferguson. They came from behind in the first race and passed two boats on the final leg of the first race to finish second. Susanna Tellschow sailed with Jamie Rasmussen and Leif Alton. They had a very good final race and ended up with a third place finish. "Wind Dancer" was first in the initial race of the day with Pat Dolan driving. Then Chris Miller took the helm and finished a solid second. Gil Chesbro was the third person in the boat. |
