Jane
Marshall Award Goes to Jane Marshall |
Jane Marshall |
Editors Note: The
Lightning Fleet's "Wet Bottom Award" was recently renamed the
"Jane Marshall Wet Bottom Award" in honor of a member who
always goes all out in her crew work - and was this year's
recipient. Although the Marshalls were not able to participate
in the awards night activities, Ron Marshall sends us this
picture and note:
Ahoy, sailors.
Jane and I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful sailing
award for Jane. We are sorry we missed the banquet, but want
everyone to know how pleased Jane is to receive such a thoughtful
tribute to her enthusiasm and love of sailing. I know by the
smile on her face how delighted she was when I showed her the
award ... it was the same smile I see each Sunday when we're
on our way to the lake. It is also a special honor to have
the award in her name. Thanks again and we look forward to
seeing you on the water next spring. Have a great off season. |

North
U and
Strictly Sail Coming to Navy Pier in Early February |
|
North U's schedule of upcoming
racing seminars focuses on Racing Trim. One of these seminars
will be held February 5-6 as part of Strictly Sail Chicago and
tuition will include a pass for all days of Strictly Sail.
Strictly Sail is one of the
premier midwest events during the off-season. It is held February
3-6 on Navy Pier, just a short distance from Chicago's Miracle
Mile and Theatre District. Make a family weekend of it.
In addition to the North U
Seminar, Strictly sail includes seminars on many other racing
and cruising topics - and usually features presentations by such
sailing greats as Gary Jobson.
The exhibit floor is covered
with the latest in sailboats, gear and hardware - and you can
easily spend half a day and not see all the exhibits.
If you are thinking about cruising,
you'll find plenty of booths with helpful information on cruising
the great lakes, the carribean and elsewhere.
You will find helpful information
on Chicago hotels at the Stictly Sail web site. The North U
web site contains plenty of detail on the Racing Trim course
as well as pricing and sign-up information. Click
on the Strictly Sail or North U logos for their web sites.
