Don't Forget Friday's Moonlight Sail/Cruise

Bring a small dessert to pass Friday evening at 8 - then enjoy a sail with the moon full. There is usually room aboard one of the sailboats - but if not, find a seat on one of the pontoon boats for a cruise.

Lack of Wind Sends Racers to the "Watershed" Early

Lake Lansing was like a sheet of glass
Lake Lansing looked a lot like a sheet of glass Wednesday - and mirrored reflections were altered only slightly by waves from fish jumping or PWCs. So - if was off to the "Watershed" where sailors pulled three tables together for dinner, some liquid refreshment and exploration of how to tie the "reverse bowline". This knot was recommended by Derrick Fries at last Saturday's Laser-Sunfish Clinic to tie the Laser mainsheet off so it doesn't interfere with the block turning and still enables two-blocking. On the Sunfish, Derrick recommended the knot to tie the mainsheet to the traveller..

Detailed results and standings are available through links on the Racing page of the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org.

Welcome the Middlewoods

Mike Middlewood has recently been approved for an Associate Membership by the LSC Board of Directors. Mike sailed growing up, but has been away from our sport for awhile. Through an Associate membership he plans to see whether or not this is something he and his family will enjoy doing, and if so, what kind of boat will be best for them to purchase. Please introduce yourself to Mike, spouse Shari and daughters Miranda and Brianna when you see them at the Club.

Please Help With Housekeeping at LSC

Members using the Club are asked to help keep things neat and maintained. In particular, it is very helpful to notice when a waste basket is full, move the bag to the refuse container and put a new bag in the waste basket. Also, if you notice that the flower baskets need watering, please add some H2O.

While on this topic, a big "thank you" goes to Doug Carlson who recently cleaned out the men's changing room and to John LeFevre for some plumbing repair work.
