| There
are three Club Boats available for members to sail in this Saturday's
Sunfish Regatta. Boats go to the first to request them. Make
requests to Vice Commodore Pat Dolan (use the "Contact Us" page
of the web site at www.lansingsailing.org).
Come out and sail - or be a spectator. The Skipper's Meeting

Building Fun Starts July 4 Activities - Sign Up Now |
The
Fourth of July is a great day of fun on Lake Lansing. It starts
with building a boat to race in the "Boat Wars" -
but we need to know in advance who will be participating. Contact
Vice-Commodore Pat Dolan to join in this event. We pick up
materials at 8:00 am on July 4 - and they are a surprise to
all. There are five hours to build a boat - then at 1:00 pm
everyone meets at the Sand Bar for three races - a kids race,
adult women and a adult men.
At 5:00 pm, members
and family and friends are invited to picnic at the Sail Club
where we will decorate the Race Committee Boat and participate
in the Parade of Boats - or spectate from the shore. After sunset,
there will be a fantastic fireworks display from the beach area
near the Club. Last year's fireworks were spectacular and this
year's promise to be more than a repeat. |
Carlson
Scores Four Bullets |
Doug Carlson After
Four Wins |
Doug Carlson was the big winner yesterday in Wednesday Laser
Racing. He won all four races. However there was some very good
sailing by others in the eight Lasers on the water.
Bob Miller had one
of his best evenings of sailing, keeping the boat moving well
to finish 5-5-4-5. Dave MacKenzie had his best race result
with a fourth in the last race and Blaine Severin scored one
of his best races with a third in race three.
Mike Moody kept
up his display of excellent sailing, going 2-3-2-3 for the
evening. George Siegle kept pace with two second place finishes
and a third place finish in his 3-2-5-2 night.

and Fletcher Lead Sunfish |
John Fishbeck Smiles
After Sailing |
An easterly light
wind took a few minutes to build up - but was plenty to keep
the boats moving throughout a beautiful evening of racing yesterday.
John Fishbeck came to sail for the first time this year and
promptly showed his stuff with two first place finishes and
two seconds. Jim Fletcher matched this performance, taking
the other two firsts and two seconds.
Neil Harrison sailed consistently - ending up with third place
finishes in all four races.
Results soon through a link on the Racing page of the web site
at www.lansingsailing.org. |
