Saturday Laser
Regatta Racing Begins at 10 - Spectators Welcome |
| The
first race of this Saturday's Lake Lansing Laser Regatta is scheduled
for 10 am. Any one wishing to see the racing from the water is
welcome. The Committee boat will double as a spectator boat,
so be sure to be ready to leave the dock shortly after the 9:30
Skipper's Meeting. Spectators are also welcome to participate
in the post racing chicken/steak BBQ for a modest cost. Six races
are scheduled, but no race will begin after 4:00. There will
be a short break for a power bar and fruit lunch around noon. |
Vietti,
Fletcher and Harrison Post Firsts |
Dave Vietti at the Helm |
First place honors
yesterday evening went to Dave Vietti, Jim fletcher and Neil
Harrison. In all, six Sunfish sailors stuck it out through
some pretty light winds to get three races in. Dave had two
seconds to go with his first. Neil also had a second. Maribeth
Fletcher and Alanna Harvey brought in third place finishes.
Susanna Tellschow,
a new Associate Member, took out a Club Sunfish and sailed
her first two races. Watch out folks, she didn't finish last
in race three - and wasn't that far behind in race two.
In the Laser fleet,
only two races were completed before the winds died and the
eight boats drifted to the launch area. The order of finish
was the same both times. Doug Carlson was first, Mike Moody
second and Olav Messerschmidt third.
