Fletcher Stars in Sunfish Season Finale - Chesbro Wins Season Championship |
Wednesday brought a beautiful evening of sailing to end the Sunfish racing season. Jim Fletcher didn't make the first race, but then had a second and two firsts to lead the fleet. Neil Harrison got racing off to a start with a first in race one. Dennis Dudley had the other first and finished in the top three two more times with a second and third. Paul Davis had two seconds and a third among his races while Alanna Harvey included two third palce finishes. While the final season standings are yet to be posted, Gil Chesbro enjoyed a comfortable lead and ends up as the 2003 Sunfish Fleet Champion. Congrats Gil! Newcomer Gerst Sails Well - Siegle Scores Two Firsts |
Stephen Gerst was going past the club Wednesday, saw familiar boats and stopped to talk. One thing led to another and a Laser was found for him to race. George Siegle continued his excellent Laser sailing with two firsts and two thirds. Mike Moody took the other first place finish and was second in another race. Olav Messerschmidt scored a top three finish with a second in race 3 while Pat Dolan had a third in race one to ring a bell.
