Moon is Full for Friday's Moonlight Sail

Don't forget the last moonlight sail of 2003 this Friday, August 15th. The forecast is still holding out for a beautiful evening with moonrise at 9:42 - just when we will be on the water in a combo of sail and pontoon boats. There will be plenty of room for everyone - so don't let the fact that you sail a single hander keep you from joining in. Bring a dessert to pass at 8 pm.

Vietti Gets The Hat Trick

Dave Vietti led all Sunfish sailors Wednesday evening with three first place finishes. Way to go Dave. Watch out everyone because after sailing, at Spags, Dave revealed he still has some improvements to add to his boat. Second place finishes were garnered by Gil Chesbro, Dennis Dudley and Sandy Bryson. Thirds were taken by Dennis Dudley, Sandy Bryson and Maribeth Fletcher. Only three races were sailed due to light winds.

There are only three more Wednesday's of racing for the Sunfish, so Sunfish sailors should be sure to come out and help finish the season on the water. Results and standings are available from the Race Results page of the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org.

Olav Insists Lasers Sail Until Sunset

Although winds were light it was a beautiful evening on the water. So, although several boats had already headed in after race two, Olav Messerschmidt challenged the Laser sailors to sail one more. And they did, finishing with a beautiful sunset shining over the water. Nine lasers started the evening and were led by Doug Carlson who chalked up two first place finishes and a second. Mike Moody was side by side with Doug most night and came away with two seconds and the other first. Third place finishers were George Siegle, Olav Messerschmidt and Pat Dolan.

The Lasers have only four more Wednesday's of racing. Laser sailors: let's make the most of these days on the water. Results and standings are available from the Race Results page of the LSC web site at www.lansingsailing.org.
