Need Fax Machine

The Lansing Sailing Club is in need of a fax machine we can use at the clubhouse to fax race results to the local media. If anyone has an experienced fax machine that is gathering dust but would like to be put to use, please get in touch with us.

Severin and Moody Score Light Air Victories

On a very light air day, Blaine Severin and Mike Moody posted first place finishes. Moody was involved in two very close finishes. In the first race, he won by less than a boat length as he held off "Oh m". In race two however, Severin came to the finish line with great speed on a little puff and nipped Moody by inches. Read about it at www.lansingsailing.org.

Detailed results and standings soon at www.lansingsailing.org.

Sign Up for Race Committee Duty

There are still a number of Lansing Sailing Club Members who have not signed up for Race Committee Duty. Members are asked to do this ASAP. A list of dates where Race Committee is needed is on the web site in the "Members Only" area. If you forgot your login and/or password, please send an email to Pat Dolan.

Laser and Sunfish Sailors Race Wednesday

Laser and Sunfish Fleet racing starts in ten days. Time to get those boats polished up and complete gear checks. Mark your Wednesday evenings starting May 28th for "Racing" and don't let other things creep in to conflict. Treat yourself. Make this your day of the week. Get an aerobic workout on the water while involved in some good healthy competitive sailing.

Afterward, join the group at Spags. Yes Olav - Doug will have the usual race quiz - and don't groan 'cause Doug has joined forces with Stephen Spielberg and UK Sails to create something visually exciting for us this year.

New Driveway Approach Finished

It's in. Looks great. Its the new driveway approach at the Lansing Sailing Club. Thanks to Chris Strugar-Fritsch who made the arrangements, we now have an asphalt entry.

Tuesday Practices and Website "How To" for Crew and Skippers

You may have noticed a lot of new and enthusiastic crew being mentioned this year. We appreciate very much their interest and are trying to provide a good path to learning more about crewing and sailing for everyone. Tuesday evenings are now being used as practice time for both skippers and crew. Just show up if you want - but letting the LSC Crew Coordinator know will help assure enough spots for everyone to be on the water.

In addition, there are new articles and links to even more information about sailing Lightnings on the web site. Click the "Crewing" button on the left, then click "Crewing on a Lightning".
