NOOD Crew Responsibilities

Finance Coordination - Terry Kleiman
Collecting money from crew members and distributing funds as necessary during the campaign, keep appropriate records. There will probably be about three stages of collection and distribution: 1) Soon - payment to secure the boat (through purchase of a sail); 2) May - regatta registration, mooring rental; 3) Early June - Payment of concluding expenses.

Regatta Coordination - Jim Newtown
Sign us up for the regatta, oversee any necessary paperwork, make sure all crew are properly registered and hold necessary credentials, obtain boat numbers and apply to hull, obtain and distribute tickets as necessary for various events.

Boat Coordination - Mike Moody
Serve as our communication link with the boat owner and with Kuli, oversee arrangements to have boat delivered to regatta site and returned to owner, coordinate our schedule of practice sessions with the owner.

Navigation Specialist - John Fishbeck
Gather tools necessary (I'm assuming others in the crew would make instruments available, such as GPS, if they have them), obtain charts of the racing venue area, become familiar with those areas of Lake St. Clair where the races will be run (depth, current, etc), brief us on navigation issues during the pre-race briefing sessions, contribute navigation information during strategy discussions.

Weather Specialist - Doug Carlson
Obtain available information on typical local wind patterns for the racing venue, obtain weather forecasts prior to practice and race days, handle the weather side of our pre-practice and pre-race briefing sessions, contri bute weather information during strategy discussions.

Shore Coordination - Neil Harrison
Check out housing possibilities, coordinate housing assignments, coordinate travel, provide maps as necessary, arrange transportation for Kuli, assure parking problems (if any) are dealt with, coordinate transportation to and from Bayview if necessary.

Project Communication - Pat Dolan
Keep everyone informed of what is going on, schedule meetings, serve as clearing house for information, keep web page up to date.
