Sailors Have Great NOOD - Pics Available
Eight Lansing sailors did very well in the Detroit National Offshore One Design
(NOOD) Regatta this past weekend (May 31, June 1-2). Click on the title to see
some pictures taken by various individuals. The Lansing contingent finished
8th in a fleet of 24 Tartan Tens using a boat borrowed from a London, Ontario
owner. The highlight was race two on Saturday when a downwind attack and gybing
duel with Wildcat resulted in a first place finish. The fine showing of our
Lansing NOODers did not go unnoticed and several invitations were extended by
other Tartan Ten skippers to sail with them in the future. The Lansing NOOD
crew consisted of Doug Carlson, Pat Dolan, John Fishbeck, Neil Harrison, Terry
Kleiman, Vladimer "Kuli" Kulinichenko, Mike Moody and Sheila Troxel.
Helping out with practice sessions were Larry Koster, Michelle Moody and Jim
Newtown.
