Marshall, Dolan and Watkins Win Sunday
Racing was very competitive yesterday (Sunday, August 4) among the Lightning sailors. Ron Marshall, sailing with Jane Marshall and Bob Hill, found wind on the first leg of race one and went on to score a first place finish. In Race two, Pat Dolan, with able crew Chelsea Roberts and Stacey Kotecki, found their own wind and cruised to a bullet. In race three, Scott Watkins finished first - just ahead of the next two contenders. AnnaMarie Hamilton and Mike Moody sailed with Scott. For full details and season standings, check the link at www.lansingsailing.org.

Women's Sailing Tonight
Reminder to the women of LSC: Tonight (Monday, August 5) is Women's sailing night. This is the third try - hopefully a charm. The other two attempts were cancelled due to bad weather. Contact Commodore Ann Siegle if you plan to attend.

LSC Needs Fridge
The refrigerator at the Lansing Sailing Club has frozen its final cube. Despite efforts to revive it by the refrig repair crew, it is destined for that great resting place for cooling devices that have done their work well. But, that means we need a replacement. If any member has an old fridge they would like to donate, please contact Commodore Ann Siegle. If we don't find another experienced fridge, we'll go looking for a rookie.

Lots of Sails Wednesday
There were lots of sails again Wednesday (July 31st). Twelve Lasers and eight Sunfish. Let's keep that up. John Fishbeck was on top of his game and picked up four bullets among the Sunfish sailors. On the Laser side, there were four different winners, but Doug Carlson was most consistent with a first, a second and two thirds. For full details and season standings, check the link at www.lansingsailing.org.

Siegles Get 7th at Higgins
We dont' have the full story yet, but George Siegle took 7th place over the weekend at the Higgins Lake Lightning Regatta. Ann Siegle and John LeFevre sailed with John. More details when they arrive.
