Lasers Regatta Saturday
Attention Laser Sailors. Your Regatta is this Saturday. Registration begins at 8:00 AM. Skippers meet at 9:30 and the first of six scheduled races begins at 10:00. Come out and sail.

Junior Evening Sailing Camp Begins Monday
In cooperation with Community Education programs, the Lansing Sailing Club sponsors a Junior Evening Sailing Camp. This year's camp runs for 6 weeks on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30. Help get more young people involved in sailboat racing. Recommend they try this camp. Those interested should sign up through Haslett Recreation & Arts 339-2665 or East Lansing Rec & Arts 337-4442 or www.elra.org.

Dolan Conquers Light Air
Gary Marx and Jim Kastenmayer crewed with Pat Dolan on "Wind Dancer" Sunday and won both races. Race two exemplified the day. It started out as a beat to windward but the wind shifted 180 degrees halfway through the first leg. The Committee shortened the course to two legs and everyone finished upwind on what was to be the downwind leg. While there wasn't much wind, there were eight Lightnings on the water and they found enough moving air to get two races in. Be Security Conscious
The "Fuzzy Faced Guy" (Larry Koster) reminds us that the Safety Boat should be placed on the hoist so that the bottom is 8 to 10 inches above the water. "You never know when a storm may move in," says Larry. Larry also found that the front gate and Safety Boat weren't properly locked. "For the Safety Boat", Larry says, "the two end links of the big chain, in both cases, should be locked together. The purpose of the little chain is to keep from dropping the lock and is not a security device."

BTW, the fuzzy faced guy was observed launching and sailing Laser #125254 Monday afternoon, he might be sailing in this week's Wednesday night series...and if his body can adjust to the confined spaces, he might consider sailing in the Laser regatta on Saturday. We certainly hope so. Thanks Larry.
