New members of the Lansing Sailing Club are invited to meet with Commodore Ann Siegle this coming Saturday about 11:30 as Docks In concludes for a short orientation. Ann will fill new members in on the use of the club, club boats, where to find things, etc. Any "old timers" that want to join in and heckle are warned that they may be called on to help with the orientation. Any "old timers" that want a refresher are welcome. |

Buy a LSC Burgee
Step right up and buy a LSC burgee you can proudly fly on your boat or display at home. There will be a sign-up sheet for orders at Docks-in. Ed Clarke has made arrangments for a Florida company to make the burgees at 14.95 per burgee (including shipping costs). Ann Siegle is working on a design and you will be able to see our new burgee at Docks-in. Ed tells us that the burgee will be 12" on the hoist x 18" long on the fly; fabric is nylon, 400 denier weave with UV inhibiter. There is a minimum order of 12 burgees - but hopefully enough members will want one of these fine pennants so the minimum won't be a problem. Payment has to be made in advance so be ready to pay when you place your order at Docks-in. Then get ready to wait with anticipation for the Wells Fargo Wagon to be coming down the street with a burgee for you in about 4 weeks. Thanks to Ed and Ann for their efforts on this. |

Don't Panic if Boat is Moved
Lansing Sailing Club Members are asked to be patient with work that is being done on the grounds. Some boats have been moved so that we can have sand delivered for the beach area. Other boats have been moved so that we can do some grading and fill some of the low spots. It is raining as this is being written. Good news for higher lake levels this spring - but it could slow up our grading and other work. The work will be done as soon as the weather and ground conditions permit - and we'll get everything back where it belongs. |

Local Racer to Watch Volvo Restart Sunday
The Volvo Ocean Race restart from Miami is this Sunday. Leg 6 is a short one, from Miami to Baltimore - about three days. Local sailor Mike Moody will be in Miami to watch. Mike plans to hook up with sailing coach and friend Vladimir "Kuli" Kulinichenko at dockside to watch the restart festivities. Mike, we look forward to some first hand reporting. |
